PavelVozmischev: Wedding day

CALEB SCHAFTLEIN,

My name is Pavel Vozmischev, I am a professional wedding and portrait photographer. I have been doing photography for 14 years and lead training courses.

I bought my first camera when I was still in the institute. Photography was a hobby for me, which I did for fun. I did not think that it will be so tighten. And after a while I had my first clients. And then I began to study the profession, more photography and even began to travel with shooting.

I just liked the process of shooting. I didn't expect that I would be able to earn money from it. Especially since the first time I photographed nature in the park, flowers, etc. I think a lot of people did that after buying a camera. Taking pictures of people was more difficult and I had a hard time finding models. At first, I invited friends over for photo walks.

It all starts with an idea. I collect a moodboard with examples that I want to create in the future. And then the preparation begins: I look for a model for the right type, choose the location, images, etc. I strongly advise you to invite specialists to your team, so your projects will become much better.

Nowadays it is difficult to be different, because there are so many styles and specialists. For me it is only important that I believe the cadre or not. From this idea and builds all the work. I want to convey the mood, the natural beauty of a person. And the image and clothes are just an entourage.

When you've been in the profession for a long time, ideas accumulate faster than the shooting takes place. And some ideas wait for a year or even longer. And the source of ideas can be anything, from books and movies, to selections in Pinterest.

One of the brightest moments was at a wedding shoot in the very beginning of my journey. I didn't know how to work with the poses of the models and had a really hard time getting a variety of shots. After this shoot I decided that I need to learn not only how to process, but also how to work with people and think everything through in advance.

Most often photographers' problems are in the realization of the shooting itself. Very cool ideas can look boring or implausible because of the team's little experience or preparation mistakes. You can take simple ideas but do them in a talented and professional way. It will be a success either way.

Preparation and a simple conversation with the client removes all questions. Everything that is done afterwards has been provided by us. And the second important point is the client's trust. It is important to build this trust with the help of social media.

I don't follow much in recent years, and I usually don't have enough time. But I watch a lot of movies and there is enough inspiration in them.

The secret is that I now process very quickly and hardly change photos. Everything I can do has to be on the shoot itself. And since everything goes quickly, I don't have to rest on purpose.

I really benefited from an artist's class where I learned about composition and color work. Processing turned out to be the most useless part of photography, although I spent a lot of time on it in the beginning. Beginning photographers are advised to look critically at their work and try to find weaknesses - it is in those areas that you need to learn.

There are a lot of such works. Some of them after time look not so beautiful, but give pleasant memories. I have most of such shoots on my website: pavel-vozmischev.com/wedding.

When preparing for this shoot I first found a location - it's an ancient castle in Georgia. And I liked the stone walls so much that I decided to do a wedding series there. A certain contrast of tenderness and lightness, against the background of stone walls.
