CALEB SCHAFTLEIN,
Full Name: Sophia Daliana
Age: 28
Country: Italy
Photography Genre: Fashion, Portrait
I'm Sophia, a professional photographer specializing in fashion and portraiture based in Milan.
In addition to being a photographer I am a D.O.P. director of photography and graduated from the National Film Academy of Bologna as a camera operator, cameraman.

I started with an old Canon camera, I photographed everything I saw around me, the camera was my third eye.
In my experiments I noticed that I was good at portraits, I stopped all my friends and asked them to pose for me.
In the academy where I studied, I was the only one with a grade of 30 in the class for the portrait course.

The love for photography began in symbiosis with my need to stop time, when I began to understand that everything transforms in life, I wanted to have this "superpower" of freezing moments and making them eternal.

First thing: I travel with my mind, I put together the pieces in my head of what form the photo shoot could take, after that I try to put everything I have imagined into a mood board, so I can discuss with the team: stylist, hairstylist , make-up artist etc.
My ostentation to play with shadows, I can see colleagues who tend to cancel them, to create set up where they generally try to remove them, instead I look for them in every shot.

From everything that surrounds me, nature itself and the textures that exist around us are truly amazing, you just need to know how to observe!
if you also combine history, culture and imagination in your mind you can create something original.

I think the best moment was photographing the footballer FRANCESCO TOTTI for an advertising campaign, the photos were with a green screen background, nothing too elaborate, but it was the achievement achieved at such a young age that touched me deeply

The attention to detail, the composition, the light, the choice of the team and the model will make the difference in the final shot.
It is not always easy to find a connection and a meeting on this topic, but with the right communication and the right compromises I have always obtained positive results.

My muse will always be Annie Leibovitz
I happened to work outdoors with less than optimal weather conditions, but luckily with the right Photoshop techniques you can transform the final result of an entire work. As for the problems on set, I happened to lose 2 entire looks with tethering, time was short and a lot of work had to be recovered, not losing your composure and being fast was the winning weapon in that situation

Do a lot of practice and feed yourself with magazines and great photographer, work in order to train the eye, it is essential to shot a lot to make the difference.
My favorite works have always come out on the subway, especially the series with the two astronauts
Submerged - it is a very profound project that concerns the introspection of the subjects portrayed with the element of water at the center -
